It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Another ...... Beautiful Day

".... another *&%ing beautiful day." -- said the   jaded Sarah Miles as she looked out the window at yet one  more fabulous  sunrise  ..... In the film White Mischief ..

I know just how she felt.
Every morning we get up, I stagger in here with my cup of coffee, trailed by a dog looking for another bed , sometimes dragging his blanket behind him   ( I still think he is a small person in a large dog suit)   and I open the drapes and look out at blue skies and sometimes a small cloud and bright sunshine.

Living in Portland, Oregon, we got up in the morning and sunshine was sometimes met with shock, confusion  ( what the hell is that light ?? ) and consternation  ( now what are we going to do ?? )  ... here, it is just another day.

So what do we do ?

Well, we pretty much walk everywhere anyway ..

We almost always take the dog with us because I feel bad thinking of him bored at home while we are outdoors having fun ( well, just about anything is Fun to a dog ) and getting fresh air and he isn't    .

We do things that can be done Outdoors rather than movies, malls or museums and lots of outdoor cafe stops. Pup likes those too.

It is getting colder. We will be indoors soon enough .. so for now, it is just as well that the days are beautiful.
