It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Snake in the Grass

Having mentioned snakes in a previous post, I thought I would tell a few of my own snake stories.

I was born in Arizona...home to a few sorts of snakes.
We lived in a house, that had a large back yard.
My grandfather had a large pit bull named Spike. Spike loved me and was famous for saving me at least 2-3times.

The famous time I was saved was the day my mom was hanging up the wash in the backyard and I was  sitting in the grass on a little hill.
I was a toddler , content to sit and play with a toy.

Suddenly my mother saw Spike jump up and run full speed, right towards me, snarling as he ran.
I just sat there, on the ground ,as Spike came running, ,towards me.
Where he grabbed up the rather large rattlesnake that was near me,  and shook it to death.

I just sat there, my mother started screaming and Spike went under the house where he stayed a couple of days, while the anti -venom shots did their job... coming out thinner but alive .

So I am here ,at least partly, due to my guardian angel,Spike.
