It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Honey Takes a Nap

Honey update ...
Honey broke her back. Thankfully it is in a place where she will heal and she can walk and be my silly Honey again.
Now she got her shot and is napping in my closet where it is quiet and small. . . she likes small spaces.
I have a cat litter pan next to my bed and blankets all over the place for naps of the cat type and I am happy to say she has been a perfect patient and is currently sleeping off her drugs in the closet-- we girls love that walk in closet .
Minette checks on Honey ... Merlin hasn´t noticed yet that she isn´t around ..
so thats the story '
My sweet little girl hurt herself but I am so so SO grateful that she will Live, Be Able to Walk !! and keep me that much less sad ...
I smile when I see her .. I want that to last a long time. So does Merlin and Minette ..

  1. Dearest Candice,
Loving kitties, there is a lot of worrying as they ARE our babies!
We got six and it is a handful but we try to make sure they are fine.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    2. Our eldest is from the Humane Society and his name is Barty and he turned 15 on St. Patrick's Day.
Then we rescued a sweet cat from Acapulco from the Hyatt Regency and rescued my favorite cat-girl ever. You can read about her here:http://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2010/09/telling-you-tale-of-our-4-feline-girls.html
Someone must have kidnapped her, we named her Spicy... We only have 4 of her babies. Sacha the tuxy girl got killed by a car. No injuries but she was dead!
Then we searched for our lost Spicy and went as far as 6 hours driving to find a look-alike but it was not her. It was an 8 week old kitten. Pieter said, shall we take her home so we did not travel all in vain? And we did. So Speckie (like Honey she's obese... but sweet and she LOVES to eat and does dishes for all other five!) is our baby and on November 10 she will be 10 years old. The babies are 12 since March 30.
That's our family... and yes, we have a cat-sitter for them to be fed in the morning and evening when we're traveling. They're our babies and we care for them and have arrangements made for them in our will...
Can't believe that there are evil people that will kidnap someone's 'child'...
      Big hugs,
      Mariette

  3. Mariette, my grandmother had Siamese cats, as far back as I can remember, there was a Siamese cat..and we had a massive Grrman Shepherd, that the cat terrorized lol
It doesn't feel normal, not to have a cat or dog..
Usually we had both..now I am just up to my eyeballs in cats!
    And very pleased ..

  4. Honey is doing very well.
We had a storm last night and my bed was full of cats who need snuggling.
    We all slept like babies.
