It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Doctor Mama

So I woke up to a sweet , young, extra large cat acting oddly.
I was still half asleep and Honey seemed off kilter in some cat way.
She was wobbly and kind of " out of it"...
I got out of bed and did the petting, talking, feeling for sore spots, that Doctor Mamas do.
She started to purr loudly.
She's fine, taking a nap. I am still shaken and will stay in with the cats and get over it.

  1. Dearest Candice,
Hope Honey is doing fine again!
Our fur babies really can scare us... their human Parents.

  4. My guess/hope is that tomorrow all will be normal again.
Amazing that vets don't work on weekends-or at least around here.
Minette is dozing on her pillow ,on the chair next to me and Merlin is curled up in the cat carrier..they all love that thing!
Honey is upstairs on my bed where I will be reading my new book.
They all look peaceful and comfortable so I will try to stop worrying.

  5. Todays visit with the vet showed us that my poor sweet Honey has hurt her back ... in an unthinking vets way of putting it ...she brole her back.
She is now confinde to my room, she is presently napping-hiding in the walk in closet. she has been fed, kissed, snuggled and now she needs rest.
Most of you might know how precious Honwy is to me ... she was my mom´s cat, Mom died upon my arrival to Florida ..I got to tell her I oved her, then she was gone .. leaving Honey ... I am so glad I have her .
    Mom would be too.

  10. Dearest Candice,
    TRY to be patient...
Healing takes time and we also must consider the age of our kitties, that slows the healing process down, just as for us humans.
Still fighting the nastiest acute bronchitis that both of us caught while on the Viking ship on the Danube Passage to Eastern Europe.
We both did not want to see a doctor in Bulgaria when Pieter was at his worst... Language barrier and it is the poorest country within the EU.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  11. Oh my, now I know why I could not sleep... turned out that my Dad has passed away this morning (our time) in his chair in the garden!
Rough time... being far away but with fond memories of our final visit a few weeks ago!
    Life can be cruel

  12. Oh Mariette ,I am so sorry. Passing away in a garden with your flowers is a gentle way to go.
My condolences to you and your family.

    1. Thank you so much and today was a rough day and I'm still in my night gown. Never got dressed! But the support of dear friends is lifting us up. We will survive.
Dad's passing was merciful and one can only wish to go that way!
      Hugs,
      Mariette
