It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Rocky and I

This is Rocky.
He figured out how to open my screen door to the lanai. The door lock has been fixed and Rocky is no longer allowed to just pop in whenever he feels like it ..
The cats are very disgruntled,..
Merlin keeps muttering under his breath .. something about damned raccoons ..
Minette got all breathless and hoped Mama would let her play with the new kid..
Honey looked around and said Raccoon ? Where ? Mama, what's a raccoon ?

I am happy to say that Rocky is not very large, looks well fed and healthy.
He came out of the forest ( a few feet from my backdoor) , a State Forest so I think he is pretty much clueless about humans and cats.
I have made sure the door can not be opened easily ...  I can't get out the door but a raccoon has no problem getting in  .. sigh ~

I have done some online shopping .. I love online shopping. I can shop for makeup and buy it and it will appear at my door in a couple of days ..
I can shop in my nightgown ! before I take a shower !!
Yes, I am getting lazier by the minute.

  1. I love shopping online too but I find I return an awful lot of clothes because I can't try them on. Necessities are a whole other thing. So convenient!

  2. I found that I have better luck buying online from a shop or store where I have actually shopped in person.
There was one shop in Oregon that made their clothes all a bit large so having tried things on in the store at one time, now I know that I must buy smaller sizes when I order online from them.
But then there are stores like ANTHROPOLOGIE that you can buy things that are not sized :)

  4. I'm glad you were able to thwart Rocky, but raccoons are very clever and I think probably very persistent so I hope you have truly won the battle. I live 10 miles or more from a somewhat small town so online shopping is very helpful.

  5. Barbara, the woods are a matter of feet from my back door .. there have been and will be raccoons here at night .. it is their home too.
I am sad that they are so casual about going right to the door but then again, what to they know about screens and doors ...
Better here than out on the road :(

  6. PS- Because of the cats, I recently had the lock fixed on the screen door to the lanai .. a raccoon won't be able to open it .. it would be fun to watch one try lol
