It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Rooms

from LSK

This room just makes me swoon. I want it.
My sofas and chairs and coffee table will look perfect in it.
I think my Persian rug will go well too.

I need to move again .. new rooms to decorate .. The roofers are here, I think I am in for not so much peace and quiet for a week or so ... ugh !

  4. I think it all looks very comfortable! I could see myself lolling on the sofa with my feet propped up on the ottoman while reading "House Beautiful" quite easily.

  6. My mother subscribed to "House Beautiful" and I kept up her subscription after she died in 2012. She was a frustrated interior decorator (the Great Depression got in the way) and passed down that knack to my daughter who designed furniture for E.J. Victor.

  9. Oh, so gorgeous! I covet wallpaper like that! If I was rich, it would be chinoiserie paper in some rooms, and scenic wallpaper in the formal dining room...

  10. Too bad I never appreciated my grandmothers wallpaper
Her bedroom was floral but that’s all I remember.
But I do remember that wonderful 4 poster bed!
