It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

I love the little ball and claw feet on the chair on the right.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, but doesn't look very comfortable!

ReplyDeleteThe sofa looks comfortable to me , all the Light in the room and the high ceilings are beautiful .. I guess I am not feeling negative today lol
I think it all looks very comfortable! I could see myself lolling on the sofa with my feet propped up on the ottoman while reading "House Beautiful" quite easily.
ReplyDelete"while reading House Beautiful :" .... exactly ! lol
ReplyDeleteand it would be cheerful in the winter when it i dreary and grey outside ..
My mother subscribed to "House Beautiful" and I kept up her subscription after she died in 2012. She was a frustrated interior decorator (the Great Depression got in the way) and passed down that knack to my daughter who designed furniture for E.J. Victor.
ReplyDeleteHow great is that!?
ReplyDeleteYour own in house interior designer!!
Yes, except I can't afford to buy the furniture she designs. Neither can she. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteOh, so gorgeous! I covet wallpaper like that! If I was rich, it would be chinoiserie paper in some rooms, and scenic wallpaper in the formal dining room...
ReplyDeleteToo bad I never appreciated my grandmothers wallpaper
ReplyDeleteHer bedroom was floral but that’s all I remember.
But I do remember that wonderful 4 poster bed!
