It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Limp & Lazy

Minette and I felt like this all day today.
A limp, lazy, moving slowly kind of day.

Now we have read about the cold and snow event, coming to the Northeast and we are half happy, glad not to be trapped in with snow and ice and high heat bills.
But high winds and rain down here with words tossed around that sound like Hurricane and Tropical Storm and Wind Damage, make us reconsider the pros and cons of Snow vs Hurricane.

For now, we are tucked in warm and dry with Merlin sleeping on my bed ( after dashing up the stairs, meowing like a mad cat and then dashing into my room where he jumped on the bed and tucked himself in )  , Honey keeping an eye on me in here, and no wind out there so far to make me nervous.
And sweet Minette, hiding under my bed. What she is hiding from is a mystery. But we play along .. pretending we can't see her .. "we" being the other cats and I ... just so you don't think I am crazy.

  1. Hi, Thank you for visiting my blog and your kind and informative comment. I had my follow up visit today and the doctor is pleased with how my wound is healing. So far, so good. I heard on the news that you are about to get some bad weather, I hope it doesn't affect you too badly. Take care, Janice

  2. I'll take snow over hurricanes! After surviving Hurricane Fran in 1996, one of the state's worst ever - it came right inland here to Raleigh - and causing serious damage to our home and cars, I'll sit here and wait patiently for any snow/ice to melt, enjoying the birds and drinking hot chocolate! Right now now a sign of anything wet and wild - sunny and breezy like another spring day. We were out to lunch with our daughter yesterday and were able to dine outdoors - it was just a perfect day.

Take care - no matter the weather conditions.
    Hugs - Mary

  3. That's the way I feel ! The wind, trees and rain/flooding all are so threatening .. I imagine myself getting 3 cats into a car with my belongings and trying to escape a hurricane.. god forbid.

I plan on relocating within a few months .. then I will moan and groan about the cold :)

    love you

  4. Luckily we don't get too much wild weather here, but even I, who hates snow, would rather have a foot of the white stuff than a strong wind.

It is cold, below freezing during the day, and oh so grey here.
I had a lazy day today too. Back to clearing out junk tomorrow.

    How's the eye?

  5. My eye feels bruised and sore but there is no obvious bruising ... so Minette butted heads with me this morning. She does it out of love. I didn't cry.
We are all about Merlin at this time. He seems to be fading ... :(
