Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Thinking of you, I am so very sorry x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely poem! When my mother died I didn´t want to stand by her coffin or cry by her grave, I told everybody "for me she´s not there". And I´ve never read this poem before. That´s exactly how it should be. They are in our memories and will live there forever.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Scarlett, you don't know me but I know you from Fodors and from your blogs which I have been following for quite a long time. I am so very sorry. That poem is beautiful and I hope it helps you find peace.
