It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Palermo Chico

Today was one of those bright sunny days, with a cool breeze that makes walking for miles easy.
I am feeling stronger and I am happy to get back to our long walks each day. There is no better way to explore your new home, any new place, than on foot. With a camera. And a Pup. Although this Pup really appreciates the stops we make, so he can rest under the table, cool off, relax and sometimes get a treat or at least a bowl of water.
Today we headed toward Palermo Chico , which is right next to our neighborhood. Here are where many Embassies are located, fantastic trees line the wide sidewalks and beautiful old French style buildings stand next to fantastic modern glass buildings and some 1930's style buildings. Many homes have gardens that you can see, green jungles glimpsed through the bars of great iron gates and walls.
Spring has the flowering bushes and vines climbing and decorating everything with great red hibiscus and sweet smelling white jasmine and small yellow flowers in trees, jacarandas are blooming their intense purple, which shows up beautifully in the parks against the bright almost lime green tree foliage.
It is times like this that I am stunned by how beautiful it can be here.

  1. I've noticed that you love jacarandas! Have you ever heard María Elena Walsh's songs? They're very popular around here, every kid in Argentina grew up listening to her songs, and she even made one for Jacarandas!
More or less, it goes "to the east and to the west/it rains and it'll always rain/ one and another light blue flower/ from the Jacaranda"
