It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Another Beautiful Spring Day in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is ridiculously pretty in the Spring.
Every day the trees and parks get greener,
flowers are blooming everywhere
I don't know what kind most of them are.
These bottle brush trees are everywhere.
No idea what these are but they are pretty..
A close up.
We wandered in the park, Pup sniffed and explored.
That little brown feathered guy at the bottom left is a baby Owl.
There were skateboarders, and football games going on.
All in all, Another Beautiful Spring Day in Buenos Aires..

An Update (from Pup)

Last night I didn't feel so hot but Mama gave me a pillow and I took a lot of naps.
Today we went to the park.
No one threw me the ball though. But I got to sniff stuff.
I feel good now.

Mommy and Me

Today is going to be a Mommy and Me day for Pup and I.
He seems to be feeling a little under the weather, a little not himself .. he might just need some Hair of the Dog, or a good Cat nap.
Whatever he wants is fine with us, so you know where I will be today ...
Hanging out with him...

Monday - Look At This Blog !

The New Victorian Ruralist

James Snowden. His blog is eye-catching, interesting, there is always something a bit different, he has great taste! Every time I look in there, I end up reeeally needing to have something here in my home.. yesterday it was water colored trees on my living room walls.. yes, really.
So go look, if you are like me, you will end up shocked when you realize you have just spent hours browsing through dreamy rooms, trying to decide which color is your favorite and how is it possible that people find these Goodies ( antiques/treasures) and you never see them where you live ...(speaking for myself obviously)..
So go enjoy my Monday Blog choice .. tell me ( and James) how you like it ..

Modern Art by Nature

A bright sunny Sunday, not too warm, not too cool, Just right.
A perfect day to take the Pup and go for a long walk through the neighborhood. Making sure that I got lots of photos of my favorite buildings and streets and parks ..
We moseyed on over to the French Embassy.
Which had an Open House for visitors and we missed it.
Oh well, at least I can sit outside and look at it for as long as I wish.. from a bench in a little park.
Or from the other side, on a bench in a small park, with this as a view from the Embassy
But we were content in the park, where one of us enjoyed the cool grass
and I was happy that I did not have to climb one of these trees
I mean, really
What in the world?
It is obviously a Medieval Torture Tree.
The terraces and balconies all over town are blooming too
Azaleas. On the terrace. All I have is Geraniums and Lavender and a bit of Ivy.
I may get a case of Terrace Envy.
This is Señora Pigeon. She was not showing any interest in
Señor Pigeon who kept strutting around her.. preening.. she was cool.
You notice, they were sitting on the ground, not in a certain tree.
Behind the scary tree, over a wall, is the Four Seasons Hotel. Very nice. This part used to be an old mansion, now it is part of the hotel. I would be fine with living there... in case anyone wonders.
Anything odd to you about this building ?
It sits right next to this building. See that wall, with graffiti on it, which will soon be hidden by the ivy..
"Modern Art" by Nature
Yes, I named the wall.
Hope your Sunday has been as fine as ours ..

Spring ... Exercise

In Spring time, a young man's fancy turns to .... exercise?
and a young lady's ... and older men and ladies.. Tai Chi in the Park... cool.
Not so sure I would want to be face down in that grass. Dogs, you know.
I should take a tip from him. . then I can have "rock hard abs" too !
Ahhh ... nothing like lying face down in the park and having a handsome young man bend your legs backwards.

Spring

Spring seems to have sprung around here, over the past couple of days. The sun is shining, it rained a little.. birds are singing, bees are buzzing... I am sneezing, it must be Spring.
There is also Lavender and Alyssum planted all over the place, Butterfly Gardens! Yay!
The bare trees are finally getting some greenery.
And someone appreciates a nice Spring breeze.

A Friday Walk

So, this is , according to some, just what you don't want to encounter on a walk. The dirty looks were mostly for Pup who was blissfully unaware that there was a cat in the vicinity, or he would have been over there, happy and wanting to make friends. Something tells me, making friends is not on this little guys mind.
We took the Pup for a walk through the parks on the way to running errands. The parks were pleasantly not crowded, tomorrow they will be full of people, the Feria will be in full swing and there will be everything under the sun for sale . Very colorful and fun and interesting. But for today, it was fairly quiet and peaceful.
Those are school buses, there must have been something going on at one of the Museums.
This park still has the old red British telephone booths.
Those are more of those Ombu trees that grow forever and become bigger than a few houses.
Right down that street is an Hermés shop, Cartier and Louis Vuitton. Just so you know.
The Cultural Center. A great museum, with a very good cafe and you can buy tickets to see interesting shows..
Our Lady of Pilar .. this church and convent are old. Very old.. built in 1732. Very beautiful. Now a National Historic Monument ( since 1942)..
After picking up some much needed croissants from L'epi, we meandered back home with the Pup and relaxed.
Tomorrow, maybe the Feria.
