It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Napping

Cats like to nap.
Some cats seem to like napping more than others ... or maybe that is because some nap in out of the way quiet places ... and some lie down on the floor, next to the bed and snooze.

With cooler weather and my inability to sleep late in the mornings .. a real bummer .. I am going to take Honeys example and have a snooze in the afternoon.

The worst that can  happen is that I will be up wide awake and ready to talk at 1:00 am.

Do you nap ? Where is your favorite nap spot ? My husband would say, I am going to lie down and close my eyes for half an hour.
And it never failed, he fell asleep immediately and woke up half an hour later.
He had magic powers.

I never left the house today.
I did deal with a little cat that wants to live with us . Followed by raccoons who want to watch tv with us .. and it isn't even time for my fave TV shows !

Have a good night, hope your weather is good ..

  1. I wonder if the raccoons have a favorite show?

  2. They might like this commercial with
Ranger Rick from Ranger Rick by the National Wildlife Federation.
    or
    Rocket Raccoon from Marvel Comics.
    or
The Raccoon from Nocturnals by Dan Brereton.

  3. My sleep has been awful for the last 12 years, at least. As a result, when I was working full-time, I obviously couldn't nap, but would fall asleep on the sofa while watching TV at about 8-8:30 pm, then wake up and drag myself to bed at 10. Now that I'm home all day, I generally nap for a bit in the afternoon, then am wide awake until around 10:30. No matter what, though, I'm always up by 6:30 to deal with the animals...

  5. Linda, when I get my migraines, the only thing I can do is take a nap. And I almost always wake refreshed with no headache. Other than that, naps have a tendency to make me cranky

  6. Just a quick note to let you know that I read your blog almost every day and have since its inception. While Sanibel Island FL is one of my favorite vacation spots I wouldn't want to live in FL, I understand you desire to relocate. Also, we used to have a raccoon that looked in on us at night through the sliders on the deck. A little creepy actually.

    1. My raccoons are outside right now and so is the neighbors cat.
The word must be out that my house is safe or something
Not to mention the possibility of something to eat 💕
