I am a grown up.
A woman.
An adult.
No spring chicken.
It will soon be my birthday 💥💥💥
When it comes to birthdays, while we complain about having them , age-wise .. I love them .. age-wise and everything else.
I lived another year.
I made it through a year of good times, bad times, sad times and some happy times.
I am well.
I am independent.... most of the time.
I get homesick for NY and I miss friends and family in NY but I am not suffering where I am.
I get lonely but what do you think cats are for ???
Someone in my family, younger than I , died the other night .. I am very aware of how lucky I am ..how blessed that life and I are getting along well together ..
So while I love a good Birthday Party and I do love some good Birthday presents and sweets ..
I especially love the fact .. that I am around to celebrate and that someone thoughtful shared that with me ..
" Count your life by smiles, not tears "
Thank you 💕

Happy birthday. I have celebrated LOTS of birthdays too. How cute to count the smiles instead of the tears.
ReplyDeleteWe had someone much younger in our extended family die between Thanksgiving and Christmas. And the fact that it was by his own hand (leaving young children) made it especially tragic. We tend to forget the fragility of life, which allows us to take it all for granted. I think the older one gets, the more one appreciates just the day to day "ordinariness" of living. How amazing, when you think of it, that you and I (or any of us) are here at all. What a cosmic gift.
ReplyDeleteYes, we never know when the end is coming or how or why. Tonight we had wild storms, large softball size hail and multiple tornadoes tear through northeast Alabama in the dark. It's never a good time for those storms but darkness makes it so hard to what has happened. My area hopefully just received rain - we've had worse - but not too far away there is damage. Your loss - again - I am so sorry. It can knock one off one's feet but it also reminds us just what you are saying - enjoy life and be happy to wake each morning and get out of bed. I'm glad you are able to celebrate another year.
ReplyDeleteThree more days :)
ReplyDeleteEmbrace it!
