I want to go back.
In Time .
To Buenos Aires.
Go back to Summer, so I don't have to sit here and watch the driveway fill up with snow again .
Go back to warm weather so I don't have to wear multiple pieces of clothing under a down coat with boots and socks just to go to the market.
Go back to music and sunshine and good memories.
I have to convince the children that they have to go back with me.
It might take some doing.
Or maybe not.
It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Hi Candice, Thinking of you!. This weather sucks. The snow is pretty at xmas but otherwise ugh! What have you been up to? Still thinking about a pet?
ReplyDeleteYour lament breaks the heart. Either place is The Missing you described, the cold only makes it more unbearable.
ReplyDeleteRazmataz, I am going to get a kitten I think and wait until spring/warm weather to get a puppy.
ReplyDeleteThat is todays thought, tomorrow it could be something different.
Gail, I must be the dreariest person in the world these days. And yes, the cold and now falling snow make it worse ..
Please don't add a layer of guilt on your already burdened soul. You have every right to grieve in your own way. This is how you honor your husband's memory.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you wouldn't have to try too hard to convince them! Hugs from left coast. I'm sorry for what you're going through, and i too sometimes wish time would reverse.
ReplyDeleteAmazingly, I just got an email from one of our favorite neighbors in BA .. maybe they will adopt me ..
