Drifting

The days are drifting by with errands run, long afternoons spent on a stone bench in the shade of a huge tree laden with flowers, Pup recuperating from his recent problems that the vet has hopefully taken care of.

And I recuperating from the issues that my dermatologist is hopefully taking care of ( with surgery sometime in March.. that is all I know, the Surgeon had to go to a Conference.)..
We are looking forward to fun with relatives coming to visit at the end of the month.

The weather is not quite so warm. Very gently, very slowly, Summer is letting go.

I will miss it in the late miserable, grey weeks of Winter but for now, I have had enough.
I daydream of New England autumns with trees full of red and gold leaves drifting to the ground, the scent of fallen wet leaves , picking apples , the scent of wood smoke in the air and browsing through cookbooks for recipes for what to do with all of those apples as well as warm cozy stews and warm soups .

I have a birthday coming. Family will be here.

This will be the first time in many years that I will spend a birthday with family other than my husband and Pup, of course. We will try to think of new things to do for the visitors, new places to go, concerts to attend, museums, it should be fun for all.

So fun times are ahead, cooler weather is coming, which of course, as all females know, this means shopping to be done. So I am looking forward to the coming months.

I think family and friends back in the US and in the UK are looking forward to Summer.

I would tell you how long it gets and how hot it can be, but why spoil the fun ?

Anticipation is half the enjoyment.

Now it is time to take a sleepy Pup for his walk, pick up some Chocolate Helado con Banana Volta and make reservations for tomorrows lunch.
