It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

What Do You Do

On the rainy, cold, dreary First Day of the New Year ?

Of course ! You curl up on the sofa with a soft blanket, 2 cats and watch Harry Potter movies.

Happy New Year ... Let's make this one count in every good way !

  1. Happy New Year!
I spent the day getting ready to go back to work- grocery shopping, laundry, etc. I think I should have done it your way!

  2. My husband always said ...” you can’t beat a good movie..” .wherever we lived and traveled,we would go to the cinema.
    It’s really enjoyable.

  3. So ridiculously cold here!! I have not left the house in days. PBS was marathoning Downton Abbey on New Year's Eve, ending at midnight, so I re-watched a lot of that. Last week I went out alone to see The Shape of Water (LOVED it) and Call Me By Your Name (the movie was good, but the ending was wonderful and so affecting - everyone in the theater was sobbing at the end and no one moved to leave for many minutes; I had to put on my sunglasses to leave the theater), and watched Mudbound on Netflix. And my sister and I saw The Greatest Showman at Christmas - critics did not like it but we sure did! It was much like going to a Broadway musical (and indeed, I've seen Hugh Jackman on Broadway three times and just adore him!), and we walked out feeling great. I try to see every Oscar-nominated movie each year, and most all of the ones with nominations for best actor and actress, so I will be seeing a lot of movies over the next couple of months! I've never minded going to a movie alone, and find it interesting that some people just will not - how do you feel about it? I don't mind going out to eat, or traveling alone, either...
