It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

The Quiet Before The Storm

It is grey, overcast and breezy and totally silent except for crows somewhere ...maybe they are yelling at the other crows to Fly North !!

I am here, staying home, there are others nearby and my daughter is the one that convinced me to stay home.
I would be on the road out in the open if I tried to leave now anyway .. the highways are packed with cars from here to the North .. I would rather be in my home than a car on a highway when it hits.

So wish us luck, I am anxious but not too.
This certainly did make me make some decisions that I had been dithering over .. this is not the life for me.

I will spend this time keeping busy so I don't get even more crazed, thank you so very much to S for sharing some medication that will keep my head from exploding ... or my heart ..

There are other people around me, it is not deserted here but feels like it is.

Tomorrow will be clean up and counting blessings day ..

Today I will make use of the time by packing :)

Talk to you tomorrow as long as we have electricity.

Ahhhhh it is getting windy.....

Sending good wishes and safety your way. Maybe stay on the 2nd floor?

Thank you Mym .. Sabrina isn't afraid so I won't be afraid.
Barb, thank you .. I appreciate all good thoughts .
Beyond .. the second floor is 3 bedrooms a laundry room and 2 bathrooms so I could do that ... I hope I don't have to ..
The owner, my daughter and some of my neighbors all think we will be fine .. I have food .. I cooked and bought a bunch of ready made things and a ton of cat food .. bottled water.
I hope it doesn't happen and I hope everything goes ok here.

Wishing you the best! Will be battening down the hatches in Atlanta tomorrow, I'd be shocked if we don't lose power. Yes, sometimes it takes something like this to help us come to a decision about something...

Thank you Lipiarifam, rain is coming down so hard that it is almost hard to see through it ...

It stopped already... all quiet but I know there will be more but the forecast is not as dire as it was before. I am less terrified :)

I am thinking of you and hoping you stay safe and calm; I hope the storm heads out to sea and away from you.

To the person that asked maybe i I stayed on the second floor ...
Hurricane winds can be over 100 mph
They flatten buildings of all heights .. If a hurricane hits a building, the floor you are on makes no difference at all.
The water is the other threat but the wind is the main threat.
I am not on or near water . Hurricanes bring plenty of water so it sort of doesn't matter to me, a Hurricane is a nightmare and a big one is going to hit us on Mon.
I have been praying and talking to God every day .. so much I think he might tell me to shut up already! but I just don't want my home and myself and the cats slammed with a hurricane. None of us swim .. and I am just now beginning to arrange to make the return drive back to NY when this popped up ... Ok Florida, enough already, I am leaving ! Behave yourself now !
