It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Where I Used to Live

Where I used to live.
These were my neighbors.
This was Spring in Buenos Aires with the Jacaranda trees in bloom. The skies almost always that amazing blue. The old buildings made of stone and plaster from the  early 1900's s up until now .. Balconies , Cupolas and French Doors. Grand rooms with ceilings 14 feet high and higher. Chandeliers with crystals, twinkling in the evening ... living in one of those old buildings made our life there even more magical.
With that lovely Porter who waited and opened doors and gave directions and generally watched over his building and everyone in it.
Who wouldn't miss that ? !

  1. I can understand why you would miss that, a porter to watch over the building, jacaranda trees and great architecture.

  2. Where I live now has so many things about it that are beautiful and nice but nothing seems to equal BA.
I am working on being able to go back for a long visit, I will have to bring the cats as things stand now so it is taking some figuring out.
But one way or another , I am going back .

  3. Oh how beautiful! From all of your postings and photos I can understand why you loved B.A. so and yearn to return. The lifestyle and culture sound so appealing. Now I want to visit too (especially because I love Paris and notice many architectural similarities). I'm thrilled you're planning a long visit with your precious gators.

  4. Glad you are working on that return to BA trip Candice - you really need to see that vibrant city again. As for taking the kitties - you may need to rethink that part, the journey could be hard for you and them, and once there you would be tied down perhaps. Hope there's a way you can find someone to mind them while you're gone!

Speaking of cats - take a look at my big cat pics. The leopard was so gorgeous - the cheetah will be coming up soon - we saw one make a kill - just the way Nature planned it all out there on the Kenyan plains.

Happy week - hoping Hurricane Matthew stays away!

  5. Mary, you forgot ... we went to Buenos Aires with a Standard Poodle, staying in hotels, etc. It is not a problem at all. You stay in a rental apt . The cats are happy with you and you with them being there with you.
I don't need anyone to catsit for me and if I did, my daughter will do it.
This is the least of my worries right now though lol

  6. Oh Mary, I did look at the photos and they are fabulous ...

Thank you for your comments.... Trolls are being dealt with ... be patient if your comment does not show up immediately. Thanks !!
