It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Today

I am putting my house on the market.
I hope that it will sell fast ( probably won't) and I will move South.
How far South depends on a few things so I won't think about that yet.
One thing at a time.
Now I will start throwing Stuff away and work on my closets.

It is a gorgeous cold day .. lots of sunshine and busy birds .. noisy busy birds.

Two noisy spoiled kitties woke me,  Breakfast maaaaaa... I am hungry maaaaaa.

So I will be in the closet today - call if you need me. Call loudly. The closets are large.

  2. I've been enjoying your blog for a while. I see myself in your position someday and am learning about life changes through you. Take heart about moving but remember that you can't move away from problems, they will come with you. I suppose moving away from the house feels like the final straw to leaving your married life behind and that is why it had been so hard to face. I hope you find a new place where you already have friends or family near so that you don't feel as isolated as you do now. Get involved in a church or some other activity where people will have to meet and greet you and soon you will be making friends with them. I feel your loneliness and hope when you get out of the country setting you will not feel so detached again from humanity. Best wishes to your gentle soul. Anne in Bradford, PA

    2. Anne, I am actually moving away from the problem of high fuel bills in NY State, a large energy inefficient house, on an acre of land that needs upkeep and high taxes.
So in a way- yes, I am moving away from problems and they aren't coming with me.

  4. Heading to where the weather suits your clothes, - the ones you don't get rid of? Sensible lady.
I hope you are more successful in selling up second time around.
I will continue to enjoy reading of your adventures, wherever they may take you.

  6. Thank you ... it is amazing how much difference the agent makes. We always used an agent who also happened to be a friend, this is unfortunately, a first for me.
    besos
