It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

In Flanders Fields
Lest we forget.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row.
That mark our place, and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly.
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived , felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved , and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
In Flanders Fields ,
John McCrae 1915

Though all wars are terrible, I do believe the first World War was the most terrible one. Will they ever end?
ReplyDeleteI doubt wars will ever end ... there have been wars throughout time .. sadly.
DeleteI'm so in agreement with Donna. Have been watching many WW1 movies/series recently - it WAS such a horrific time in history and sadly has been repeated over and over again. Men are wicked - yes I fully believe it's only men not women who create these wars - and know it will continue to be this way until the end of time. What can we do but pray for the innocent and hope for us all.
ReplyDeleteJust watched the series Anzac Girls (from Netflix) - the New Zealanders story of that first world war - amazing! Based on the true stories of those women depicted in the show.
Mary -
I haven't watched the Anzac girls yet but plan to. Glad you liked it ..
DeleteThis is so beautiful and touching. It's only a dream, but I sure hope someday we can all live in peace.
