It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

  1. Dogs and cats can get on very well, and I think especially if the cats own the place first.

    Worth a try?

  2. It might be , Andrew :)
We got our puppy ( Tate ) when our cat was 15 years old :)
Of course, the poor cat was so old, he couldn't do much but look at the dog .. when we got the pup, the cat slept with him. it was too sweet for words. Even when the pup grew up, the old cat liked to snuggle at night in winter.
    I miss them both.

  3. I have known many a dog and cat that grew to love each other. Just so long as nobody tells them they are supposed to be two species at war :)

  4. Cats and dogs can be best friends, our cats and dogs always got along very well. But I wonder if Murdock has endured so much abuse that he wouldn't be able to cope with cats being just, well...catty. I'm sure his current caretakers would be happy to share in more detail the kinds of normal, everyday stress they think Murdock could manager and the kind that would trigger too many horrific memories for him to be able to handle.

  5. Anony, that is what I was thinking. He might be happier with just his own human to love and be happy with. Cats can be annoying, my kitten is annoying my old cat lol
