It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Run Away

Don't you feel like just Running Away sometimes ?
Not that life is bad or someone is hurting you or you are in trouble ... just to go somewhere else.

To look at strangers everywhere instead of the Neighbors.

To smell new scents,

To taste new flavors,

To hear different voices.

To not understand what everyone else is saying ..

To get lost .

To discover delights while finding your way.

To rest at night in a strange place, not your own bed.

To fall asleep listening to strange sounds, or no sounds.

To spend hours in a museum .

To wake up in the morning and lay there wondering .. what will I discover today ?

Don't you just wish you could run away ?

  1. I almost did run away ... there was a deal on airfare to Amsterdam $600 RT and for where I am that's a BARGAIN! BUT, my friend who owns my home away from home in Amsterdam won't be there, so I'll have to run away at a later date.... :( I know what you meant - I could wander the museums, get my fill of Rembrandt and other Dutch Masters, sit on a bench and people watch at Vondelpark, go window shopping, get by on cheap Indian and Thai food, catch the trains to Gouda, Delft, etc. EVEN catch the train to Belgium for a day... OH how I could run away!!!!!! Wanna go with me when I do?

  2. Read my post today - you'll see where I was supposed to have 'run away' to this week!! Boo hoo, I couldn't go because of my pain and the possibility of a big surgery next week!

I hope you can dig out of that snow Candice and at least get to the store - fresh air helps clear the cobwebs!
    Thinking of you and Minette.
    Hugs - Mary
