It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.
But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Celebrations

In this season of Merry making and Holiday cheer, we also get to celebrate Birthdays.
Since it is Summer here and Christmas is a week away, it seems to be more difficult to think of a good Birthday celebration and gifts.
Today we had a great time .. celebrating the Birthday of my husband.
We went to the Racetrack.
The weather is perfect. Perrrfect.
Bright blue skies, dry, no humidity, cool breezes blowing and sunshine, plenty of sunshine.

Yes, those are new freckles on my nose, for some reason I did not consider the sun when planning this day.
Perhaps I am still so used to going out in the cold with a scarf wrapped around my face, that the idea of sunblock and shade hasn't sunk in yet.
Or perhaps I am just feebleminded and won't ever get it right..
Christmas/Summer/December- January Birthdays/Summer .. see what I mean ?

It is always fun to go to the Hippodromo.
Everyone is in a good mood, the place is stunning.
We sit outside in the fresh air on benches or today, we sat on a grassy area with little tables and umbrellas , close enough to almost get hit with the dust as the horses fly past.
And as it always should be on someones Birthday- We won.
We both won.
But sometimes, I think I am the biggest winner.. Birthday or not.
